Do you want to reduce the time it takes to keep the list of projects in OpenAsset up to date? By using Zapier you can integrate Salesforce with OpenAsset in countless different ways!

For example, you can:

  • Create a new project in OpenAsset when an opportunity stage changes to "closed".

  • Update project fields in OpenAsset with key data from opportunities, campaigns or custom objects.

  • Create a new project in OpenAsset every time you create a new campaign, opportunity or custom object in Salesforce.

Getting started

It is super simple to get up and running with Zapier integrations, below we outline the steps to get you started.

  1. Create a Zapier account. You can create an account for free!

  2. Create an integration. Below are some sample integrations you could try out.

Sample integrations

Create project when Salesforce opportunity stage changes

This Zapier integration will create a new project in OpenAsset when a Salesforce opportunity changes to a particular stage (e.g. it is closed / won).

Pick the stage you want to trigger on.

You could set the project code in OpenAsset using the opportunity ID in Salesforce, and the project name using the opportunity name. Use the field picker on the right hand side of the text box to map the data from a sample opportunity.

By now you hopefully have an up and running integration!

It will have a single trigger and action.

Update project fields from opportunity data

To map more fields to an OpenAsset project than just the code or name, you could add another action by editing a Zap and clicking "Add a Step".

Choose Action/Search.

Pick the OpenAsset app.

Click "show less common options"

Choose "Update Project Fields".

To map the project Id, choose "Use a Custom Value"

Pick the "ID" field from the "Create Project" step.

Now map any fields you want to update.

Remember to turn your Zap back on at the end.

Create project from Salesforce opportunity

This Zapier integration will create a new project in OpenAsset every time someone creates a new Salesforce opportunity.

You could set the project code in OpenAsset using the opportunity ID in Salesforce, and the project name using the opportunity name.

Create project from Salesforce campaign

This Zapier integration will create a new project in OpenAsset every time someone creates a new Salesforce campaign.

You could set the project code in OpenAsset using the campaign ID in Salesforce, and the project name using the opportunity name.
