Template Export Formats

Your custom templates can be exported to the following programs:

  • Adobe InDesign: Exports as an .idml file.

  • Microsoft PowerPoint: Exports as a .pptx file.

  • Microsoft Word: Exports as a .docx file.

Custom Template Types

The type of template determines the type of content you select from your OpenAsset system when launching your document.

Project-Based Templates

Select one or more projects to automatically populate your template. The document will be filled with that project's data and images, pre-sorted by your team's ranking preferences.

  • Best for: Quickly creating project sheets or proposals when you need a strong starting point. You can easily swap images later using the drag-and-drop feature.

Employee-Based Templates

Select one or more employees to generate documents like resumes, team bios, or project credit sheets. The template automatically pulls the employee's headshot, their professional data, and information about their assigned projects.

  • Best for: Quickly assembling professional resumes and team overview pages.

File-Based Templates

Manually select the exact images you want from any project to include in your document. This template populates with your chosen images and any associated project data.

  • Best for: Creating highly curated documents like brochures or portfolios where you need full control over every image from the start.

Text-Based Templates

Select pre-written text blocks (like boilerplate copy, descriptions, or testimonials) to build your document.

  • Key Consideration: Since text assets are not linked to images, you will need to manually drag and drop images into any placeholders in the final document.

  • Tip: You can also set up these templates to generate documents with fixed text (like a form or cover page) without needing to select anything first.
