OpenAsset for Adobe Express lets you search your OpenAsset DAM library and insert approved images, video, and audio directly into your Adobe Express designs — without downloading files, re-uploading them, or losing track of which version is current.
It's built for teams who manage assets in OpenAsset DAM and create fast-turn content like social posts, event handouts, and presentations in Adobe Express.
This is an open beta, available to any OpenAsset DAM customer with Adobe Express.
Who it's for
Primary: Marketing, communications, and graphic design teams who use OpenAsset DAM for asset management and Adobe Express for content creation.
Secondary: Business development teams producing social or event content
Getting set up
Each user sets up the add-on individually — there's no shared or network-wide setup.
In OpenAsset DAM, generate an API token.
In Adobe Express, add the "OpenAsset" add-on.
Log in using your API token and create a four-digit PIN for future access.
Watch the full setup walkthrough:
Using the add-on

Filter by File Category and Access Level to stay within approved, brand-safe assets
Search by keyword or AI visual search (used separately — you can't combine both in one search)
Drag and drop assets from the add-on panel straight into your design
Choose file size for images and video before inserting

What's supported
Platform: Desktop web version of Adobe Express only. The Adobe Express mobile app doesn't support add-ons.
File types: Images, video, and audio. PDFs and PowerPoint files insert as first-page images only — the source documents themselves can't be placed.
Permissions: The add-on respects your existing OpenAsset permissions — you'll only see assets you're already permitted to access.
Cost: No additional subscription required — this is a value-add integration.
Not yet supported
Push-back: You can't send a finished Adobe Express design back into OpenAsset yet. This is planned for a future phase.
Snap-to-placeholder: Dropped assets don't automatically snap into image placeholders.
